About Me

My current role is 'Associate Director for Strategic Programmes-Inclusion and Employment’ at RNID and is a UK wide role, working with teams across the organisation to ensure that people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus are not disabled by societal barriers. Leading us to a society in which deaf people, those with hearing loss or tinnitus are represented, treated fairly and have equal access to employment and everyday life. I am also a CODA(Child of Deaf Adults). Both my parents are profoundly Deaf, and I am passionate about BSL as a language. As well as using BSL at home, I have BSL NVQ Level 3, I also developed a Professional Development Award (PDA) in Deaf Studies whilst at the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)Alongside my professional career, I hold several voluntary roles. I’m a member of the UK Government’s BSL Advisory Board, a trustee at Forth Valley Sensory Centre, and a member of the Justice of the Peace Advisory Committee in Glasgow.
